Selected Energy Efficiency Projects
Refrigeration upgrades with higher efficiency compressors and Variable Frequency Drives (VDFs) on the glycol pumps
Winery - Insulation on Glycol Pipes: Un-insulated refrigeration pipes absorb a great deal of heat, resulting in increased refrigeration compressor operation. Thermal insulation will eliminate most of the heat gain, saving significant amounts of energy. Additional advantages of pipe insulation on other piping include: protection from freezing, stability of process temperature, noise reduction, preventing condensation and corrosion, and extending compressor life by reducing the load.
Alameda County Office of Education: Comprehensive lighting retrofit from interior Metal Halide fixtures to direct/indirect fluorescent technology (the lower floor has the upgraded lighting, the upper floor has the old, inefficient lighting).
Fresno County Office of Education: Installation of progressive classroom lighting system (before and after photo's).
San Leandro Gym Lighting: An upgrade of lighting from Metal Halide high bay fixtures to fluorescent high bay fixtures (before and after photo's).
Napa County Lighting: Comprehensive lighting retrofit of the County Administration and Hall of Justice facilities
Winery Wastewater Treatment Pond: Winery wastewater is traditionally treated with aerobic ponds to biologically degrade the winery effluent. Winery effluent usually needs to have a biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) less that 40 ppm before it can be discharged into vineyards for irrigation. Horizontal aeration units are typically twice as efficient as most vertical models.
Marin Fairgrounds: Upgrade of existing Metal Halide High Bay fixtures to Fluorescent high bay fixtures, and upgrade of old HVAC equipment to new, modern energy efficient equipment
County of Sonoma Central Plant: Consulting services for engineering and upgrade of the County Administrative Center’s central mechanical plant to meet the growing demands of the County Center.
Energy Partnerships: Consulting and engineering services with existing local energy efficiency programs, and PG&E Government Energy Partnerships such as the Marin Energy Management Team and the Sonoma Energy Partnership.
Others: Consulting and engineering services with Delta Diablo Sanitation District, Dublin San Ramon Services District, North Marin Water District, West County Water District, and many others.
